Your position in our crew

Do you bring experience in leading projects and inter-company management of project related tasks in an organization where programs involve multiple international program stakeholders? If it fascinates you to join forces with highly skilled and driven colleagues in supplying high quality and reliable naval solutions to the shipbuilding industry, then come aboard!

The Program Manager (m/f) shall be the important role for our international team and will empower our Organization in Croatia. The role is a member of the Project Management department and takes responsibility for overall performance of the program across all involved entities. The ideal person for the job will be individual with proven leadership skillset, able to work in international environments across multiple countries, result-oriented and solution-focused. Furthermore, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language is a necessity. For this position, you should have the following key set of skills in your portfolio:

  • Managing the program in close coordination with the Project teams of involved entities. 
  • Responsible for on time, in-budget and in-quality scope execution across the entire program.
  • Coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure program success.
  • Inter-company management of complex project related tasks with a focus on procurement, supply-chain, export and import of material packages as well as the management of major suppliers.
  • Responsible for project controlling and reporting tasks within NVL.
  • Providing oversight in support of the execution of the project on site.
  • Responsible for open communication within NVL but also with relevant subcontractors.
  • Support of the involved NVL entities regarding the implementation of project management related processes, reporting schemes, organizational development.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase efficiencies and speed up processes across the program.
  • Defining and implementing project-wide KPI’s to gauge project performance in all areas.
  • Maintains close coordination with the Director Programs of NVL.

What’s in your kitbag

The Program Manager (m/f) has a technical background balanced with industrial experiences and processes combined with start-up fast moving organizations, as well as:

  • Master Degree in Engineering or similar education
  • PMP or IPMA certification of advantage
  • Education in people management
  • >8 years professional experience in leading project management positions, ideally as program manager in international projects, preferably in the defense sector
  • >5 years’ experience in program management of (highly) complex multinational programs
  • Experience in ship building or aviation industry
  • Experience with governmental programs of advantage
  • Experience with infant organizations and fast growing teams of advantage
  • Highly developed analytical skills
  • Highly developed social and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge in program management skills and techniques
  • Cost awareness
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and common software applications (ERP systems)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Able to work in a cooperative and participative leadership environment
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Capability to work in highly dynamic and fast developing environments
  • Enthusiastic, open for innovation and capability to motivate employees
  • Ability to act situational
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Flexible and stress-resistant
