Your position in our crew

The Project Management Officer (m/f/d) shall be the supporting role in our international programs and will empower our organization in Croatia. In this role you will report to the Program Manager but will also closely work with other teams in our croatian and international organization to ensure continuity of the day-to-day business and scale quickly.

The role is a member of project management department and takes responsibility that projects are run in a repeatable, standardized way. They will have previous experience in developing and implementing project management standards and processes as well as encouraging project team to use them. 

For this position you should have the following key set of skills in your portfolio:

  • gathering data about project progress and producing reports
  • providing technical advice on project management fundamentals: project estimating, schedule development, procurement, project management standards 
  • responsible to obtain requests for information and request for quotation (RfI/RfQ) incl. non-disclosure-agreements
  • developing and implementing project management standards and processes
  • provision of and support in organization-wide communication
  • communicating with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals
  • contributing to the planning and development of projects
  • supporting the coordination and management of projects
  • performing administrative tasks such as preparing invoices, estimates, scheduling meetings, etc.
  • keeping track of and reporting on project progress
  • establishment and implementation of a program management office including the required standards, processes and regulations (program reviews, risk management, program handbook, communication matrix, etc.)
  • ensuring close coordination with the program manager to act and support as interface between the project teams and the project office

What’s in your kitbag

The Project Management Officer (m/f/d) has a background balanced with industrial experiences and processes combined with start-up fast moving organizations, as well as:

  • Bachelor or Master degree, preferably with a technical focus (shipbuilding/mechanical engineering, industrial engineering) or completed training/education in conjunction with qualified skills acquired through appropriate professional experience (PMI; IPMA; PM2; ISO)
  • extensive knowledge and experience in leading and executing a project management office, including the required standards, processes, tools and regulations
  • experience in the execution of shipbuilding projects of advantage
  • experienced with start-up environments, willingness to support the establishment of essential project structures, processes and tools
  • extensive knowledge of common MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project), experience with ERP systems preferred. Quality Assurance process knowledge is advantage.
  • Project Management Office organization and management
  • able to work independently and as part of a team 
  • high level of commitment and initiative
  • high knowledge of English language (written and spoken), German is advantage

The ideal person for the job will be highly organized, able to multitask with strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. Furthermore, excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language, together with ability and willingness to travel is a necessity. The position is located in Rijeka and might include travel activities abroad due to project needs and/or other locations from within the NVL Group.
